I started painting on canvas on March 1, 2016. It wasn’t long before that, that I could not draw a straight line or paint anything other than solid walls. However, in 2010-11, I had six strokes followed by dozens of TIAs (transient ischemic attacks) caused by migraines and a unique developmental defect in the arteries in the right side of my brain. This ruined my typing, and sometimes makes it difficult for me to find the right word, but I think it is what enabled me to do art.
To read more about my first discovery of this, check out my personal blog at www.shoutforjoy.us, especially “Line Painting As Entry Drug.” To read about the various paths in art I started to explore, read “Ya Gotta Have Art!” Then check out my steampunking of the bathroom and various articles about art. Several of the stories are duplicated here, but not all.
Please scroll down and subscribe by email to this site to receive regular alerts about new artwork added to the collection. My contact info. is also there so you can suggest possible subjects for future projects.
There is an “Events” page to find out about any upcoming art shows I may be participating in.
